I'm a flawed follower of Jesus Christ. I've been married for three decades. We have four kids and four grandkids who often lose my Tupperware lids, which makes me flip mine.

I'm a middle school ELA teacher. Some call me crazy, but I'm clear about my calling and grateful to work with students in urban communities.

I like to play golf, but I'm not a golfer. I love to road bike and garden - not comestibles like fruits and veggies, but perennials like echinacea and hosta. I'm Black, my wife is not, and our only grey area is her cat, Aldi. I don't like Aldi, but I love my wife, so we have a cat.
